Dixie Nationals Rookie, Jefferson Classic Open, Pope Classic Open

Nava/Breffle entered wrestlers in three consecutive holiday tournaments from December 29th through December 31st. In total, five wrestlers participated. We wrestled a total of 23 matches, winning 8 and losing 15. Two of our wrestles placed. Congratulations to David Bertrand for placing 2nd in the Dixie Nationals Rookie and Jonathan Hammond for placing 1st in the Pope Classic.

Creekview Grizzly Open

Four of our wrestlers took advantage of the holiday break to wrestle in the Creekview Grizzly Open (a non scheduled tournament for the club). We wrestled a total of 14 matches, winning 6 and losing 8. Although none of our wrestlers placed, three won a match or more. Congratulations to Joey Bertrand for winning three matches and Sam Abrahams for winning two matches.

Kell Longhorn Beginners

Five wrestlers entered the tournament: four, first-year wrestlers and one, second-year wrestler. Overall, we posted a 9 and 5 record with two, first-place finishes, one second, and one third. Two wrestlers, Davir Monne and Sandor Monne, had only been wrestling for two weeks prior to the tournament; both wrestled well and showed great potential. Congratulations to Dawson Winters and Alex Gruenig for placing first, Sandor for placing second, and Danny Megathlin for placing third. Danny had the toughest bracket and wrestled five times, posting a 3 and 2 record to take third place.

Kell Longhorn Open

Nava/Breffle entered six wrestlers into the Kell Longhorn Christmas Classic and wrestled a total of 17 matches, winning 7 matches and losing 10. Four wrestlers won a match or more. Congratulations to Jonathan Hammond for winning three matches and taking first place. Also, congratulations to Sam Abrahams for winning two matches and making it to the semi-final round in the winner's bracket.

Centennial Open

Nava/Breffle Wrestling entered the tournament with nine wrestlers and wrestled 26 matches, winning 10 matches and losing 16. Six of the nine wrestlers won at least one match. Congratulations to Jonathan Hammond for winning three matches and taking first place and Kyle Denney for winning two matches and taking fourth place. This was Nava/Breffle's second open tournament in its short history and was a significant improvement over the last where wrestlers won 2 of 12 matches. All of the wrestlers represented the club well and learned valuable lessons.
